True Partnership
Over the next two months, we will be visiting six different Churches, sharing the vision to see the next generation of ni-Vanuatu Church leaders grounded in the gospel. At most of these Churches, I have the privilege of preaching on 2 Corinthians 5. I love 2 Corinthians, and I think it is a fantastic book to help us think through true partnership in the gospel.
2 Corinthians 5:20 says “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us.” I’ve never had much to do with Ambassadors until this year, but I’ve now had plenty of conversations with the Vanuatu Embassy. Just as they represent the government of Vanuatu here in Australia, so too we all represent our Lord Jesus in this world. We have the privilege of passing His gospel on, appealing to this broken world on God’s behalf. The partnership we are fostering with Churches, and the partnership we have with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Vanuatu, originates first and foremost in our partnership with God in his gospel mission. This is true partnership, God using each of us in his mission to reconcile sinners to himself through Christ. What a privilege to partner with God in his mission, both in Australia and Vanuatu.
Please pray that our Church visitations across the following weeks bear fruitful and generous partnerships for the gospel. Pray also that these visits energise rather than drain us as a family.
